About Me

I am a National Board-Certified Occupational Therapist with more than 15 years of experience working with children and adults across pediatric, educational, outpatient, hospital, and rehabilitation settings.

My career has given me the opportunity to work with individuals and families at many different stages of life—from early childhood development and school participation to adult rehabilitation, independence and safety at home.

My Experience

 My professional experience includes:

  • Private Practice
  • Early intervention
  • Pediatric school-based OT
  • Pediatric and adult outpatient therapy
  • Teletherapy
  • Adult inpatient and subacute rehabilitation
  • Hospital-based rehabilitation
  • Community-based services
  • Community Mental health
  • Parent and caregiver education
  • School consultation
  • Clinical education and supervision

Before becoming an occupational therapist, I spent approximately a decade working as a behavioral health counselor and case manager. That experience continues to influence my approach to therapy, particularly my focus on relationships, communication, family systems, and meaningful participation.

Specialized Training

My continuing education and specialized training includes:

  • Level I Certified Handwriting Specialist — Handwriting Without Tears
  • How Does Your Engine Run
  • Brain Gym
  • Neurodevelopmental Optometric Rehabilitation
  • Therapeutic Yoga
  • Therapeutic Exercise
  • Executive Functioning
  • Adaptive Dance
  • DIR/Floortime
  • Praxis with Teresa May Benson
  • Additional pediatric and adult rehabilitation training

Why I Do This Work

I love being an occupational therapist because it gives me the opportunity to help people overcome challenges that once seemed difficult or overwhelming and discover new ways to participate in the activities that matter to them.

I especially value the relationships I build with children, adults, and families. I believe therapy works best when individuals feel understood, supported, and respected.

I work closely with parents, caregivers, teachers and other professionals to help create consistency between therapy and everyday life.

As a mother myself, I understand that family life rarely goes exactly according to plan. Some of the most meaningful moments in my work come from problem-solving alongside families, making adaptations in the moment and celebrating the small victories that eventually become big ones.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two children, and extended family. I love cooking, reading, crafts, nature, Pilates and yoga, bike riding, and spending time at the beach with family and friends.
